Image
Reflection Blog: Emotional Intelligence: Getting Results! Watch the two videos on emotional intelligence by Dr. Daniel Goleman.  In the first video, Goleman describes the four dimensions of EI: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and social skills.  In the Ted Talk, Goleman focuses on self awareness and social awareness through the lens of compassion. After watching the videos, develop a reflection blog that focuses on the four EI dimensions.  Discuss how each of these applies to you, which represent your strengths and what areas that you may need to develop. Share how the EI dimensions have helped or hindered you in your performance and/or career. Submit the link/URL to your blog. Cite examples where you feel you fell short. Am I a Resonant Leader? Exercise: 1) Am I inspirational? How do I inspire people? 2) Do I create an overall positive emotional tone that is characterized by hope? How? 3) Am I in touch with others? Do I really know what ...

Exercise: 1) Think of a leader for whom or with whom you worked - one that brought out  the best in you, one that you would gladly work with or for again 2) Think of a leader for whom or with you worked - one that you try to avoid, left you wishing for more, would help your organization more by working for a competitor *When You were Around Them, What Did they Say or Do? How Did They Make You and Others Feel?     For this exercise, I can specifically think of two people - one who I'd go to war in the trenches with, and another who I'd be reluctant to follow. What I find most interesting about this exercise is that when determining who t...
